In-Office Services: X-Ray

One of the greatest benefits we provide to our patients is the ability to have complete diagnostic services fulfilled conveniently in our office. Southern Orthopedic Specialists, P.A. operates its own, on-site x-ray facility, staffed by four full-time Registered Radiology Technicians. This provides our patients with the benefit of scheduling a single appointment for evaluation of skeletal disorders.

The level of radiation received by a patient during an orthopedic diagnostic x-ray procedure is minimal and safe. Our clinic has made additional efforts to keep our patients' exposure to an absolute minimum, with the installation of radiation-reducing filters, and by using x-ray film that allows for minimal exposure levels. Nevertheless, if a patient is or suspects she may be pregnant, she should notify the x-ray technician before beginning the x-ray procedure.
