Online Guide to Hand & Upper Extremity Care

At Southern Orthopedic Specialists, we understand how important healthy hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders are to everyday life. From work responsibilities and athletic activities to routine daily tasks, upper extremity conditions and injuries can affect comfort, movement, strength, and overall quality of life. Our Online Guide to Hand & Upper Extremity Care was created to provide patients with helpful information about available treatment options, injury prevention, recovery, and specialized orthopedic care.

If you are experiencing pain, injuries, or conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder, our doctors provide comprehensive care tailored to your individual needs. Our team includes fellowship-trained upper extremity surgeon Dr. Mark Awantang, and specialty-trained upper extremity surgeons Dr. Ryan Cotton and Dr. Michael Noble. Each of our hand and upper extremity doctors offers advanced treatment options focused on restoring function, relieving pain, and helping patients return to the activities they enjoy most.

At Southern Orthopedic Specialists, our team is committed to delivering patient-centered care supported by education, communication, and personalized treatment planning. We work closely with every patient to identify the source of pain or limitation and develop a treatment approach designed around their lifestyle, goals, and recovery needs.

Through our Online Guide to Hand & Upper Extremity Care, patients can access resources about common hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions, treatment recommendations, rehabilitation information, pre- and postoperative guidance, and answers to frequently asked questions. Our goal is to help patients feel informed and prepared throughout every stage of treatment and recovery.
